Jimbo,

I arrived at Rawlinna via the Connie Sue in mid July. Then headed up to Haig and headed down to Cocklbiddy that way. The Trans is in great nick. Very rocky on the track down south from Haig but nothing difficult about it. Lots of water about at that time as well. Was advised that the Haig route to Cocklebiddy is a much better option than the angled road down from Rawlinna.

Cheers Mick

We were a few weeks after Mickk and the trans road is great all the way to Haigh, the road from Rawlinna to Cocklebiddy is very bad apparently and hard to navigate on the southern end with a profusion of detours and station tracks.
The road from Haigh to the Eyre hwy comes out about 11k east of cocklebiddy and while rough with lots of limestone rocks and muddy hollows is easy to follow. 20- 30kph for the bit between Haigh and the hwy.

Gday Peter and Mick,

I've done the Rawlinna to Cocklebiddy Rd a few times. Its not a bad option - just lacks signposts. If you are running Oziexplorer, its fine. And some Hema maps call it a private road - thats wrong - its a public route - we've confirmed that before with Arubiddy Station and Cocklebiddy.

Its the northern end near Rawlinna where the tracks are confusing. Most people find it hard to find their way south from Rawlinna. Coming up from the south is OK. Arubiddy to Cocklebiddy is a dirt highway.

Cheers
Phil
