How amazing is that. Love knows no boundaries. I remember once we had a wombat turn up at our door with a gun shot wound. It was infected badly. He slept in the shed while we cared for him until the wound had healed then he simply went on his way. Amazing how animals adapt so quickly. Also had a koala once with a cold came down from the trees during a big storm and sat on the ground. We provided him with fresh leaves each day and the odd cuddle. When it warmed up and he was over his cold he went on his way. Totally wild animals but both were happy to accept human help in a time of need.

Excellent story. We used to have a white cocky that used to dig burrows every year to nest in (didn't have a mate though) and some of the burrows he dug would be 1 metre deep or more!
