I read some replies on this thread and it was suggested Adobe Flash player be upgraded to version 10.
What I found is that Firefox was blocking the upgrade download for this.
You have to click on the yellow info bar and allow it as an add on. After completing this process, I am able at this time, to wiz through EO even though just prior to downloading this I was on go slow.
See how it shapes up over the next couple of days and maybe it will help others. Cheers Tony

I think there is Definitely a Clash with Firefox and Adobe Flash Player.
Just went to reply to a thread and insert an image.
When I clicked on insert image the Adobe Flash Player download box appeared and then all jammed up. Tried this a few times to insert image, same thing happened each time.
Very Interesting :-). Cheers Tony

Adobe makes Flash Player.
This site uses lots of Flash based stuff compared to other sites.
As I say in my post to the other thread its a pretty intense site for interaction so you need everything up to date and working
well on your machine to get the best out of the site.

I've had a bit of a problem in recent times with my EO windows locking up- I might be a bit weird but I open the threads I want to read in new tabs and then close them when I'm done. So at any time I can have several tabs open in the browser.
This is on the network at a University running IE8 and Vista Executive? (or whatever the network edition is called).
Has anyone else run into this problem?

The speed issues come and go, if it was Adobe I would think it would be constant

Since my Up Date - I have not had another go slow problem as yet,
Did have that unusual clash with Adobe window when trying to insert photo into thread. That has gone now though as I could have placed an image in this reply easy as?

After you upgrade, install adblock and flashblock and it will get even quicker, stops all the ads too ;-)))
