Has anyone heard or had any problems with one? I'm looking at late 90's early 2000's Quadra Drive 1.

Its going very
well so far, just clocked over 90,000 the other day and it hasn't had a single problem yet. The engine does like a drink when towing, but in general driving I get around 13-14L/100km which is much better than I expected. I've found the engine to be fantastic, it has really good low end torque for towing and plenty of power for overtaking.
Its also pretty good off-road as
well, suprised quite a few people, its one of the few remaining 4WDs with live axles (eg. patrol, disco, wrangler) which helps off road (only thing that stops are tyres which can be easily fixed and a small lift wouldn't hurt if you plan on doing a lot off road)
Cheers

The CHEROKEES have a fairly good name but one criticism by a prominent 4wd mag is the axles.Although they are as strong enough, the bearing runs directly on the axle while other 4x4 have a bush for the bearing to turn on .This is not a problem as long as the bearing is replaced as soon as there is a sign its worn.Failure to do so will cause the axle to heat up necessitating replacement at $600 per half shaft. That was about the most serious concern in the article on used cherokees.
