Gidday
It’s been a cold winter down here in Latte Town (at least for me) but the warmer months will arrive soon.
I’m looking around for some private properties to
camp on in the Gippsland area, hopefully with access to a
creek.
‘Damn Dog’ is small, so there are no problems with stock, and she’s kept under control for her own benefit. Nothing is left behind, no rubbish, or
toilet waste.
The only thing I need to run is a quiet generator for a couple of hours each day and a fire to
cook on in the morning and night.
I’m prepared to pay my way for the privilege, so if you have any contacts I’d appreciate it.
Regards
Kim

Hi Kim
Their are so many free ones that I haven't thought about paying for private ones.
Just trying to narrow down what you might be looking for that would be between the free and isolated valleys near
Dargo - and say the almost as quiet (this time of year) pay for
places like Wonnagatta CV
park by the river.

Gidday Robin
I’m starting to find that even the remote
free camping areas seem to be attracting more and more campers. That’s their right and I don’t have a problem with it.
However, there are times when I want a bit of peace and quiet which private properties tend to give.
Up until a couple of years ago I had a couple of favourite spots off the Sturt Highway
well into the bush, but people tend to follow tyre tracks and before you know it, the place is over run, and litter everywhere.
I also have an aversion to people rolling up, with ghetto blasters and making life a misery.
Regards
Kim

Hi Kim
We find some quiet
places but I guess I don't
camp a lot in the one place.
In a lot of the little
places up along the Wonnagatta north road I would expect to be able to
camp for the mon, tues, wed, thurs, fri without a visitor .
Litter is a problem , in last weekends trip I collected a garbage bag of mostly cans of beer and girly type drinks - but while its disapointing I try not to get upset because I think that the litter per person is less these days and its just that there are more people being pushed into less area.
We also get the odd person who comes up to our place and camps in an out of the way valley for a few days , but the trend seems to be away from this.
Not many responses to your request , I would have thought there are many big blocks that are mostly unattended , its probably more a matter of finding out where they are advertized etc.
Seen a couple before in shooting magazines and Racv mags.
Will keep a
lookout for you as have had a couple of
Dargo properties mentioned to me before along those lines but not being in the need I sortof only half listened.

if you see a good place on a property go and knock on the door and ask them if you can
camp there. I do that a couple of times a year and never been refused. I go back to
places I have been to previously. I always give the necessary courtesy when leaving make sure the place is better than when I came. Lighting fires and dogs are things people are concerned out. I now always say I dont have a dog first up and dont make fires. In a couple of cases we have become good friends with the property owners and ended up doing paid work to help them out.
In Gippsland region never had a problem finding a great
free camp on a river. Will be heading that way in 2 wks.
