Wanting to do an overnight stay somewhere this long weekend. done the coorong a few times but not from Goolwa to the murray mouth.

Beach OK to do this by myself (not too soft etc). If it 's just like the other side then shouldn't be a problem (GQ patrol).

Also, what's the camping like at the mouth? Are dogs allowed?

Thanks,

Check the tides. Being a long weekend I imagine quite a few 4x4's in the area. No camping permitted at the mouth. (You probably wouldn't want to in case a high tide swamped the beach area) Wouldn't know about dogs. Check with a local. Goolwa Visitor Information Centre

Not a very sheltered spot to stay overnight, sand is softer than the other side, but as usual let tyres down and you wont have any dramas. Low tide is best for travelling cos as you get closer to the mouth you will run out of beach if there is a particularly high tide or stormy weather.
