Go with the aux tank, then if you hole your main you have the sub tank to go on with.

The LRT's are 147ltr and are around $800+

But to setup the Aux tank will cost you a bit, the tanks are going for $250 and thats cheap, then theres pump and pipes etc to go on with. cost you close to $500 fitted.

Truckster.. $250 for an aux tank?... Where abouts?
I was going to do away with the pump idea and just have them self-draining into each other if i can get the aux at the right height..._____________________________________________

I have Long Ranger tanks from ARB in my GQ diesel. The aux gravitates into main, no trans pumpms at all. A great idea for remote travel as less stuff to go wrong. Works fine for me , it has been now for two years without any worries at all.

Dunno where truckster can get an aux tank for $250 mine was just over a grand fitted.Bush Bappo's 4WD Club
Get out there & have a look

Got mine for $70 out of a written off GQ SWB it was the main tank for the LPG System, and there was one forsale the other day on Outerlimits for $200....

Bollox to buying accessories new anymore, not worth it.

147ltr LRT I got I paid $150 for.

uppy,

Not saying you will have a problem but make sure whoever fits it makes sure it's ultra clean before it goes in. Came across a bloke out bush not so long back that had major dramas all the way (filters, fuel pump etc) because the maker left it up to the installer to clean it, the installer thought the maker had cleaned it..you know the story. Yours Petrol?

When I first got mine, I got from bleep ney to Albury and had 1/8th tank left.... Its 4.2 diesel... 95 ltr tank, but dont get anything like that now.

SO your getting 600klms to 95ltrs, remember 1ltr of diesel is 1kg, and the tank is around 4000000kg, (...ask Luke how heavy mine was, he blew his furfer valve lifting ONE END when it was MT!)... The stock tank is about 15kg if that...

its all more weight, then you get less Klms to the tank draggin more weight, and then costs etc..

The LRT 147ltr would probably be your best option, but its close to $800, $280 to fit it is obscene...
