G`Day all,,, Have just returned from a 10 day trip through the above. First obstacle after refuelling at Kumurina Roadhouse was a
locked gate to Beyondie Station. After enquiring at the Roadhouse, was informed that the track out to Beyondie passed through Kumurina Station land and no more access will be allowed through there. So it was 40kms back to the Mary Mia turnoff and in through the Station. Located all the access tracks to the
water holes in the Ranges and met up with William, another Exploroz member for a quick chat. It was then out to Wells 5 and 6 on the CSR. Had a very pleasant 2 day break at
Well 6 in the great
camping spot there. It was then back down the CSR and all the corregations to
Wiluna. Refuelled at
Wiluna and down the
Sandstone-
Wiluna Road where we passed the Exploroz vehicle, I assume David and Michelle but unfortunately as I was leading a convoy was not able to stop and say hello. We had to cut the trip short at
Sandstone due to quite a bit of rain but the main object of the trip was achieved, it's now to the big clean up to get the dust out of the vehicle which I will start as of now! Now that I have had a taste of the CSR, I am looking forward to doing the rest of it but that will be a future expedition. The CSR has a special interest to us as my wifes great uncle Tom Cole was the first to take cattle down it. Now out with the cleaning gear.

Thanks for the info re: the closure of the access track Kevin.
I was at
Carnarvon Ranges in Aug and found it to be a spectacular spot. There is another access to the area through Neds
Creek Station, and the owners are great people who are more than happy to allow access provided they get the standard courtesy call in advance.
