Something MUST be done to free this site up.
Lately it has become extremely slow to respond.
I suggest that the teckno experts go back to the drawing board and try again.
I have been a member of this site for a number of years and I am becoming more and more frustrated with the sites response.
All other sites I open come up quickly however this one now lags by up to 5 minutes at worst before operating efficiently.
I know I have only a 1.6ghz system with 4 gig of ram and run on optus wireless thumb drive but in the past this has been great, I also have the latest flash player etc but still blaaaa.
SO WHY ARE OTHER SITES MUCH QUICKER TO RESPOND.
To say I am unpleased is an understatement.
And I know that you will all rouse on me.
SO BE IT.
I used to have a handle on life, but it broke.

Cheers Dodg.

As an IT Professional, all I have to say is this site needs a MAJOR workover !!

Too much Flash, etc. Let's get back to basic HTML. After all, I would guess a fair percentage of the users are connecting from remote locations (i.e. mobile phones, etc.).

If you want to compare a FAST site to this one try this site

Only wanting to help. Not a flame or anything like that. But must agree, something HAS to be done!

Sorry Malcolm I have a problem with that site link you posted.
I can't search for details on the CSR, I can't download way point files, I can't upload my trip photos, I can't ask advice from other travellers etc.

Horses for courses and its nice to have Government funds to build web sites and maintain servers and have the further resources to pay people to manage it all, life is a bit different for the small business community who have to be innovative enough to find funding from where ever it can be found, shop, advertising etc etc.

Tony and John

It comes back to the tools one uses for their site development.

John, I'm not saying that JCU has the "content" that you are looking for, just a comparison between using "aspx" and "html" ( or even "php" ) as a development environment. You be the judge. Did JCU load faster?

Tony, I'm not deriding this site, far from it. I'm just pointing out there is faster alternatives for page delivery. It is up to the developer to choose what he/she considers to be the "best" development environment. Many times I have had to go back to the drawing board to get a better outcome. Computing is an ongoing development cycle.

Its definately all the ads that have been appearing on this site lately. Not good for a paid site if you ask me.

The other night I thought it was good after I changed my power mode. I was able to muck around with my profile too. But all was short lived. Sure hope EO can sort it out sooner rather than later. Wander if they can mute the advertisements for a day and see what happens.

I rarely check the site anymore, just the trader... but I see nothing different

over 20 seconds to open a thread, 20 more to logon, and another 30+ after you hit submit 400 times.
