June 2008 I came across this bloke walking with a couple of camels who were pulling his red van. Not hard to miss and also very distinctive.
He was on the
Great Central Road just east of
Laverton heading west.

August 2009, 35km west of
El Questro on the
Gibb River Road we stopped at the look out and who should walk past.

After a chat we both went our separate ways.
What are the chances of meeting again next year??

Very distinctive????
Certainly the only traveller I've come accross using a "camel tow vehicle"
Saw him walking along the highway between Auski and Hedland in May this year.
Dont imagine he'd be too concerned about the price of deisel or the availability of LPG in remote areas.
Probably got a bit more time up his sleeve than the rest of us

We also passed him on our travels.
He was parked up under a tree having a meal.
Would have been July somewhere as
well.
Wondered what was going on as the camels werent hitched up and couldnt see the shafts on the Suzi.

Stopped to have a chat with a bloke travelling with horses and an old gypsy caravan between Oodla Wirra and
Peterborough back in about 2004. He reckoned he had been travelling for about 15 years and was on his second horse.
He had plenty of time and was one of the happiest people I have ever met.
Made me jealous really. We climbed back in the car to do another 300km before tea. Heading home from a buisness meeting wearing full uniform and wishing I could spend the night with the horses
