Hi All, our Chescold F400 stopped working on 240V but works fine on gas and 12V. I'm guessing it's the 240V heater element that needs replacing. Question is, how do you access it? The heater flue is surrounded by an insulated case [filled with rockwool] and I can't see any simple / easy way to get inside to the heater element. Any tips or advice? cheers, Peter

Have a look at the accompanying
LINK, you may glean some information from either the submitter or the supplier. I reckon you need to start be removing outer panels and then the rockwool. Good luck with it.

Hi there, we had the same problem with our chescold, I got one of the guys at work (ex refrigeration mechanic) to take it apart, was a simple exercise to take off back, and insulation. He knew what he was looking for so not a problem, was a long stick with a wire attached to it.
If you want more details I can ask him tomorrow?
They are about $100 to purchase (not including fitting which is easy enough) but we had already spent $300 to recondition the compressor when it was given to us 10 years ago so I ended up giving it away to someone who just wants to use it as a gas fridge when
camping.

Hi Jazzy, thanks for the offer. The flue casing was soldered [!?] but I pried it open, removed the rockwool and got out the heater element. Now waiting for a replacement [ordered online]. Fingers crossed cold beer is only a few days away. cheers, Peter

"we had already spent $300 to recondition the compressor "
- 3-way fridges don't have compressors ????

Oh
well, maybe that was a girl comment?????
Any who, MIL gave it to us not working (said it worked
well except it wouldnt get cold haha) so we spent $300 to have it "fixed" - was 10 years ago so I cannot remember the exact description of the repair.
s-o-r-r-y.
