Hi. I think you may have a Viscount Aerolight van made in the 1980's. There is a bit of info in an old thread :- 36632 .You may have to type "Viscount Caravans" into google to find it. Other than that I can't tell you too much more. Bob.

Just be aware that the original "Viscount" Caravans ceased production in the late 80's. The name "Viscount" was later bought and used on another line of caravans which were not made to the same quality or standard.

I understand that the later owner of the name "Viscount" also constructed a range of 'vans under other names and he ran into trouble with Consumer Affairs or Fair Trading people.

Hi
As stated above it is an Aerolight model.
They have a light weight chassis, and cracks can occur, if used on rough roads.
Have a good look under van, if there are any cracks in the chassis, you can get them welded.
My Grand Tourer has the same colour and fittings, which is an '86 model.
If that is a reg label in the door window, there may be more info. on that.

Regards
Neil

Hi,
As others have already said, it's a Grand Tourer aerolight of the mid to late 1980's vintage.
There were a number of different layouts internally.
Looking at your photo, my guess is either a small front dinette with the table lowering to make a single bed, using seat cushions for the mattress or a front kitchen, (sink, 2or 4 burner stove and a small under bench 3 way fridge).

If the front is a dinette the kitchen area (as above)will be along the right hand side with a seat/bench opposite (converts to small single bed).

If the front area is the kitchen, it's most likely that the dining area will be under the window on the left hand side and may well convert to a smallish double bed as required.

At the rear there may be either single beds or a double island bed.

There may be assorted storage spaces including cupboards at ceiling height as well.

Hope this helps with your project.

To help get rid of the buildup of dirt etc, look for a product called "Truckwash CT18" and use it according to instructions on the container. (I use a soft longhandled broom dipped in the truckwash solution to scrub away the dirt. Do it in sections and wash off with clean water as you finish each section. It may take a few go's to get it all off but it will be worth it. A word of warning though:-- Do not climb onto the roof to clean it , do it from a safe stepladder or similar .

Again I hope this helps,

Disco.
