Hi all
Does anyone out there know if you can still buy these adaptors. If so from where?. They allow you to use Z9 oil filters on a HZ engine.
I heard of them a while back now a mate of
mine is chasing one.
Many thanks in advance

Only a good idea if you want to shorten the life of your motor. The toyota filter filters out much finer particles out than a Z9..

Petrol motors don't have much in common with an indirect injection diesel motor.
The filter for the 1Hz is dual stage (2 sets of filter elements inside) so it can filter out more of the black soot that collects in the oil of a diesel motor. Petrol motors don't have soot.

I remember seeing the ad in 4wd mags years ago and just had a phone number but no web site or address . I just buy donaldson filters which are just as good as toyota and about a third of the price .

Hi Phil
To Use a Z9 is a backward step in filter efficiency
The genuine toyota and Ryco equivalents contain 2 filter membranes
the 1st is a full flow
The 2nd is much finer and is a bypass filter (takes a small % of the full flow and filters it to sun micron levels)
The end result id cleaner oils and longer drain intervals.
the Z9 is a fill flow only.
