Has anyone heard that the sign at the tip of Cape York is gone. This may be old news on this site by now but we just got back into Cooktown. We were up there Monday of last week, and apparently it went missing last Friday. Im so glad it was there when we went up, would have been so dissapointed if we got there & it was gone.

Probably the same mongrel who knocked off the dollar coin we araldited at the base of it last year. They even knock off the WW 2 heritage signs up here.

Spoke with a friend on last friday nite who was due to visit on sat and whilst at the camp ground that they where camped at ,they where inform of this. He sent a text on saturday that they did make it to the tip but without the oblictry photo next to the sign!
Apparently the police had a good description of a ute that they where looking for with a destinctive colour and boat on racks. So i can only hope they succeed in the search for the culprits

Fools like this are all over the place, it costs taxpayers and ratepayers many 10 of thousands each year just in one Shire alone.

Road signs, street name signs etc - all Richard craniums 100%

What about the idiots that have to take out a row of guide post?

So if you have taken a sign, run over guideposts, you are a common thief and are brainless twit - imho

Cheers Tony

Sad, very sad that someone felt they need to steel the sign. Lowlife.

I saw a short of Paul Hogans new movie and it features the sign but it looks like they are in a different location ??? Has anyone seen that?

Cheers

Dave
