Rob
There was a couple here at Adelaide River a few weeks ago with a Kedron and they are very happy with it, they sent an email last night from Pt Hedland , Towing with a V8 Troopy.

Supreme Getaway would get a vote from me. Had mine nearly 10 years and 250-300 thousand k's. Used commercially as a "trailer with beds" for the first 4 or 5 years and it was loaded with a tonne of gear that killed a previous van but the Getaway is still as good today as the day I bought it new. No hesitation in taking mine anywhere I want, sand would be a killer as they are seriously heavy. All my cupboards are still in one piece and nothing that was there on purchase day has gone by the wayside, it all still exists and is functional. The last 3 years running it has done big outback trips and has survived many corrogations in these trips. I am confident the Getaway will cope with whatever the Cruiser can pull it through.

Hope this info helps.
Trevor.

I may be biased, but Bushtracker has the strongest construction. Kedron, Phoenix and Trackmaster are usually liked by their owners, but some still 'upgrade' from these to Bushtracker or aspire to. With the others - read the fine print! Their are also other smaller manufaturers which may be worth a look, such ans Elross and Sunland (and possibly others).

The 'top 4' are all heavy - but it comes with the strength. They do cost for this, but someone pointedo ut to us that Kedron don't cost any more than some of the 'ordinary' (black top) caravans. The right tow vehicle is can issue with a heavy van.

'I may be biased'

I think so Motherhen, so I'll forgive you.

Rob, what State are you in? There is a small company in WA starting off and their "consumer" vans look worthwhile following up. Google "ExplorEx.

I have had a Trakmaster ans sold it to get a Bushtracker.

I'm glad I ain't too scared to be lazy

Just be VERY careful with the WEIGHT.
Many of the 'names' are over the top and you may struggle to remain legal.

Build your own, I reckon.....

Thanks for the replies.

I think i had most of those mentioned covered. I have seen the explorex at the show here in Perth.

I reckon i might have a shot at knocking one up? i have built a few trailers, all have made the Gibb RR and CSR etc no issues. I want too much to get one off the shelf. I would like to take a quad bike, etc as well so a rear area for that would be good.

Dunno, i need the lotto win to have a go at all the options!!

Thanks Again.

Hi,

We have an EVERNEW and have done over 20k of which a lot of dirt roads. Couldn't recommend them high enough. Talk to anyone who owns one and you will get nothing but praise. Evernew is a family business for over 50 years, no dealers and build what you want.

Do yourself a favour and check them out.

Cheers
