We move into our house on the 19th of this month after almost 3 years on the road. It is a rental but it's a house. Our plan is to rent for a while to give us time to settle and decide what we want to do. Will be strange having room and walls that don't flap. There is room in the yard for a camper or caravan and Julia has already worked out the site fees lol (kids are free if they play with her). One of the first things Julia worked out was there is room for people to come and stay with us. I love her way of thinking. This trip has opened them up to a different way of life. We will be in Glenorchy, northern
hobart. I can't believe it's all over so fast. I am looking forward to not having to climb into bed every night lol. The girls are excited about having their own rooms. Marees excited about having a dishwasher and running hot
water and a couch and aproper fridge and .......

All the best to you and your family Josh. I have followed your travels over the last couple of years and become a bit envious at times. Looks like there will be many "home movie" nights to come and lots of reminiscing. I don't think this will be the end of your travels so hope to see you on the road some time. Enjoy the house while you can. Bob.

I agree this is not the end, just a short break. Will be good to have a look at all the stuff we have collected as we have travelled. Can't remember some of the things we have collected so will be like christmas. We are already starting to plan another trip for the future, see the bits we missed first time around lol.

A decent shower/bath is what I'm looking forward to, not a caravan
park shower. It will be nice to have a place of our own instead of
camping in someone elses place all the time. Do plan to still get out and about a lot though. A couch instead of
camp chairs, now ya talking.

Josh that reminds me of when we bought our first humpy. While doing it up we camped out the back in the camper like yours. Three kids later the two bedroom joint got small very quickly. We took the plunge and bought a 4 bed family room en suite thing. For weeks we hung around in the kitchen/family room. Took us a while to spread out to the Dining and lounge rooms. The boys still wanted to share a room.
You wont have to line up for the washing machine and will be able to use the line without worrying about anything growing legs.
Ha ha now you will have to mow the lawn LOL LOl.
Cheers
Sharon

I'm still working on the lawn problem. Julia has already said "can't we just stay in the back yard in the trailer". Just realised we should save a fortune on washing and it might be done properly lol. Will be interesting to see if the girls sleeping by themselves works or not, they are very close.

G'day Josh
We too have just rented in Mandurah (south of
Perth) for a bit of an intermission. Bit like your
Roxby Downs stay I guess. Should be here about 12 months to do some work.
Moved in 2 days ago and I'm still trying to come to terms with it. I miss the camper and my freedom as does Sonja but you do what you gotta do. get back out there when we can. Kids are liking having their own rooms again though.
Good luck with it
Cheers
Joff

Hey ya Joff,
Hows it going?
We stayed in Mandurah for a week when we were over there so I know where you are. Nice area. We were in Roxby for about 8 months but we were so over it when we left. We were just itching to be back on the road again and free to go where ever but as you say do what it takes. We will rent for a while then decide what we will do longer term. After being in
cape york the fishing here is a bit average, I was using fish this size for bait lol. Hope W.A. goes
well and you will be on the rag in no time.
Happy travelling
Josh

Josh we did it for 6 months last year with our kids and struggled on our return. I went back to teaching and sat in the staffroom for 2-3 weeks like a zombie - I was just void, couldn't get into the swing of things again. If I had a 2 hour class, I took them outside midway for a 10 minute break, telling them they needed to stretch their legs. It was for me, not them, I couldn't handle being inside for so long...the Principal cottoned on to it and had a go at me for wasting lesson time!
But running hot
water was a treat, own
toilet...still I'd give that up tomorrow to do it all again.
Hope your 're-entry' goes
well.
Cheers,
Mark.
