Hi everyone,

Was due for some new bush walking boots and decieded to try something different. I have always work Rossi Mulgas's. I got about eight years(with three resoles) out of my last pair. I have tried Rossi Barron 290's this time. They are brilliant. Around the same price as the Mulgas. I have been wearing them all day every day for six days straight, from brand new. No blisters or any sore feet at all. They are awesome to walk in too. So a big thumbs up to these aussie made boots.

Rossi 290 Barron

Rossi Mulga

Normal no affiliation with rossi other than a very satisified customer.

Have a good one

Matt

I always had Rossi boots also, for working in though. That was until we were supplied with Steel Blue workboots, nothing comes close to them for comfort. Good to see Rossi has upped its game.

2nd vote on the steel blue, never had a work boot as good, just light and comfortable.

G'day Matt,
good to see you supporting an Aussie manufacturer (and a 3rd generation family-operated business at that:))

I'm a very satisfied Redback wearer myself (also made here by a family-owned & operated business:)), though SWMBO has a pair of Rossi 'lastic sides for gettin' 'bout the bush;-)

Catch ya later... Ed C

Me, I went for some Mongrels with lace up and zipsiders. Getting in and out of them is a breeze, no need to undo do up laces, just the zip. Their brilliant.

Being a free issue, I'd suggest he either lost or wore them out frequently :-)))

I remember being issued with our free" Navy boots in 1965. The stores bloke just looked at ya feet, and decided what size ya were. No one dared complain, just suffered a lot. Jeez they were crook boots, stuffed a lot of feet for life. :-(

Same here with Rossi Mulgas, last set lasted well over 10 years, had another 2 custom made from the factory in SA in my size, as they didnt do that size anymore.
Cant speak highly enough of their boots, or their assistance.
I either wear the mulgas, or occasionally the steel caped versions.
no other footwear for me.

It's all about fit isn't it.
I had a pair of Blundstones (non lace up work boots) but they always rubbed me the wrong way. Next time I wanted a pair of non laceup style boots I was a bit hesitant to try again
In the end I decided to go for it so tried on some Mongrels, liked the feel but they didn't have them in my size. Tried a pair of Rossi ones and they were perfect. Rossi Claret I believe, best pair of boots I've had to date, they took a little getting used to because they didn't have such a padded feel compared to the Steel Blue lace ups or my other shoes....5.10 Loafers. But no rubbing and comfy enough to wear all the time.
The Steel Blue lace up work boots feel reasonably comfy, they are slightly big for me so not perfect and not sure I'd be confident on taking them on a long hike or something like that, good for bush work though.

If I'm after a pair of good lace up walking boots I'll certainly give Rossi a consideration, otherwise I'd probably go for Five Ten (aka 5.10) because they make great MTB Riding shoes!
