JAZZY
Well, we are off for our first big(ish) trip to
Adelaide for 3 weeks and have the van packed and ready to roll. It is a bit dark down in the depths of the pantry (we usually have the food sit on
the bench top for a weekend) so was wondering what people use - I have seen those little wardrobe lights that use 4 x aa batteries, but was wondering if there is something small that uses maybe 1 or 2 batteries?

I have a Dove & my wife & I have a head torch (Lamp) LED runs off a couple batteries I think these little devices are great because being on your head they shine where you are looking and both hands are free. Also if you leave them on by mistake someone soon tells you. Buy them cheap off E Bay.

Jazzy with all due respect, if you can't make a very small decision such as this , should you really be towing this van at all?????

G’day Travelin OZ,
Ron got severely ridiculed yesterday for criticizing those whose questions he considered to be silly. The consensus was if you have a question don’t hesitate to ask it. By asking, Jazzy may now be considering LED head lamps instead of the obvious.
Myles.

Travelin OZ, "with all due respect" there was no respect in that derogative phrase at all as we can all see by your "very small comment", however, since you are not able to help me with such a "very small question" I am sure that others on this
forum can offer helpful and informative advice. Next time just let others know that you do not know the answer.
PS Just for your information Travelin OZ, hubby is towing the van not me.

I can understand your concern, especially when the camper is all packed up and you need to get in and fill the fridge or stop on the road and
eat lunch, getting anything out requires a light. We use a round LED light purchased from a hardware store, it runs on 2x AA batteries and due to the low energy consumption of the LEDs, the batteries should last months even with regular use - much longer than conventional torches. It has a hook on the back of it that folds out making it ideal for haning up in the camper at night for easy access if you need to go take a leak.
Here's the website with photos

The link to the website with the LED light in my last reply wasnt direct enough, so Ive added this one. It should give you the image. If it doesnt, just open the website and look under new products, scroll down a fair way and you'll also see the pics of the lights.

why not run a light in each of the cupboards just like the light in the centre on the roof inside your car. fit a door switch to the cupboard door and when you open the door the light comes on, close it and light goes off.
it was done like this on my first camper by the previous owner - an off road finch - and it worked brilliantly. i should do it again on my swan now i think about it :)
