Electronics experts, help needed.
Buying a new fridge for the shed at our local appliance store when I noticed a 50L Samsung [ I think was the brand ] 230V bar fridge.
According to the label on the back of the unit:
230V
50MHZ
0.6AMP
80W
0.65KW/24hr.
You can probably see where Im going with this.
Deep cycle battery [? amp/hr] to a [? Watt inverter] to the fridge.
Would it work ?
Cheers......Lionel.

Hi Lionell, Have tried that idea in my van start up current is pretty high hads to use 1000W inverter to start it but once it was running ok drew about 10Amps on 12V. Used it to keep fridge going when travelling, found it was a bit mutch current draw for
free camping. Finished up bighting the bullet & fitting 80Liter Waeco upright mutch more economical on power. That said it should work.

Lionel,
Purely as an experiment I plugged a Bar Fridge, rated draw 60 W, into a 600 W Inverter. It wouldn't start.
Cheers,
Jim.

As per all the above, plus I don't think the bar fridge will take much of a pounding off-road before something fractures.
Most bar fridges I've seen, according to the sticker on the front, have a much lower efficiency rating than full-size fridges; ie, two stars or less.
cheers

There seems to be a big variation in starting current that fridges need.
During blackouts I have no trouble running our two-door fridge on the Kipor 1kVA sine-wave Inverter generator.
It was impossible to run our neighbours two-door fridge because the generator died every time it was plugged in.
