The Rambler( W.A.)
Just come back from a trip (4 1/2 mths) across the top to N.Queensland.We went out to
Cape Melville where Ihad been in 2007 but noticed that the first 50km from Kalpower there was a major improvement in the road condition with further major roadworks being done.Anyone know the reason for the expensive upgrade to this isolated section as it would seem more beneficial to upgrade the road between
Lakeland and Kalpower which was not the best.I hope that they are not opening up some type of resort or anything else that will spoil the untouched wilderness of the area.

It wouldn't be due to the hand back of
Bathurst Head would it. Not having a go at all. I remember when Ninian Bay was handed back quite a bit of work was done to improve the road in. I also hope they are not going to spoil it, why not just leave some areas untouched.
I hear even the top end has had significant work done to the roads. However I guess if you where the locals you'd have a different opinion.
