I was wondering if you did the above journey in the Captiva and how it went.
We travelled from
Bathurst to
Darwin, accross to
Cairns and down the coast back home to
Bathurst in July-Sept 2008 (14,000 klms) but we stuck to the Barkly rather tha the route you were proposing. Our rig was a manual diesel Captiva towing a 1,600kg (loaded) van.
Only problem we had was the accelerator sensor (it is a drive-by-wire setup) let go in
Darwin and could not get it fixed till
Cairns.
Did the Captiva go OK for you?
