Hi I am new to the forums and have purchased a jayco doce camper.
I have have been having issues with my regulator as in no gas flowing through it.
I had to replace one as it had not been used for a long time but the new one also packed it in. I have heard the extreme cold can affect them so I wrapped it up for winter but when I went to test it before we went away once again it had failed. Has one one else had any similar problems

There was a rash of this type of failure a few years back and it seems it was due to some sort of oily residue in the gas cylinders migrating up into the regulators.
The solution was to relocate the regulators up higher so that any oil that migrated up the hose towards the regulator would flow back down the hose, not into the reg.
Don't know if this is your problem but might be worth a try.
The reg is probably wrecked so before you put the new one on relocate it up a bit higher.

The gas plumber says it is the rubber in the flexible hose breaking down that causes the blocked regulator. There are 2 options.
1) raise the regulator above the bottles and this may fix
2) replace the flexible hose with a copper pipe
I chose the second and had no more problems

Hello Wallw.
Check out this site.
http://www.dariocaravans.com.au/page.asp?parentid=11&productid=1164
I pulled my two failed 2 stage regulators apart and found the same problem in each. A greasy/oily contaminant had deposited on the first stage rubber valve
seat causing the rubber to expand and deform, thus blocking the first stage even when the mechanism was in the fully open position. The second stage was unaffected.
The contaminant could be in the LPG or in the cylinder at purchase. It will collect in the low point of the hose/copper loops until it is pushed into the first stage of the reg.
My reg is mounted above the cylinder valve and the hose was clean but had a bit of a dip in it, Have the hose/copper flow straight up to the reg inlet without any dips or loops.

Get someone to blow the gas lines out with an air hose.
Spent 3 hours trying new regulators and hoses on a friends van and didnt fix it.
Blew s*** out of lines and its fine.
Did however lift the regulator up higher afterwards

Had a Swan for 30 years and still had the same regulator which screwed sraight into the gas bottle. Never had a problem! Bought a Dove 2 months ago and last week the hose between bottle and regulator got a split 1 minute after I turned the fridge onto gas. This hose is one of those ones with a steel mesh to hold the presssure. So it's a dud and so I put in a copper tube like the old Swan and off we went. When it comes to technology sometimes it's old but gold rather than new but you get the blues.... W

Friend bought a Finch ,new, had all sorts of problems. On the advice of a gasfitter, as said above, fitted reg higher than top of bottle & replaced pipe
with copper....no trouble since. Jayco were of no help at all under warranty.
