I recently purchased a VMS GPS (Touring 500 plus 2 reverse cameras) )which came with the usual Street Navigationand an off road Memory Map iTopo feature that I was trying to get into when I had an SD card malfunction.
Sent the unit back to the factory and upon return I had a new SD which included the previously mentioned features plus the Ozi Explorer off road maps arrangement.
I have found that Ozi Explorer is much better to use than Memory Map but my problem is I do not have any written instructions for its use.
Unfortunately the new Ozi Explorer feature did not come with any "Help" data.
Can any body on the site help and direct me to where I might get some good information for using the Ozi Explorer?
It would be great if I could download a PDF booklet as I did for the original Street Nav & Memory Map but the VMS site does not seem to have such information.
I am even happy to go through video sequences to learn if necessary rather than by trial and error as I am doing now.
Help!!

Peter

All you need to know is here OziExplorer CE
If you still have dramas ask specific help questions. It is a very comprehensive program and will take a little time to learn.

Further to Freds post here is the link to the online help

OziCe Online Help

Best bet is to read this and have a play with the unit. When you identify a specific problem or question then post on the forum. Someone will usually be able to help.

Peter,

The best way to manage your VMS unit is to have the full version of OziExplorer on your computer and manage all your OziExplorer activity at that level then transfer the data back and forth via the SD card.

Good info for OziExplorer beginners can be found at OziExplorer Education. This site will also give you free access to the National OziExplorer E-TREK library where you can both submit and withdraw track and waypoint files for many locations around Australia.

Hope this helps

Thanks Roger.
The first thing I need to work out is actually what I have with the Ozi Explorer addition from VMS.
From a lay man's look it seems I have an Australia wide map that will allow "moving map" ??? operation but without other support.
On my GPS screen it does not appear that I can get the usual toolbar operation.
I did try to download the Ozi Maps onto my computer but Windows could/would not open them so I am not sure what is happening.
I will continue to read up on the information provided.

Peter,

I have an older version of VMS in my Landcruiser and cannot offer much help as to the operation of your model as the new versions are radically different to my version.

I expect you haven't much at all in there to function with OziExplorer.

I reckon you will need to get some digital maps with each ones unique OziExplorer .map file on to your computer after loading a copy of OziExplorer to run them and then copy them over to the SD card and then slip that into the VMS.

Good Luck!

Roger
