l just recently bought a 98 nissan patrol 2.8 ltr turbo with 140k on the clock, everything seems to be fine besides there is oil in the intercooler inlet and outlet. Not heaps and it's not blowing smoke. Is that a problem?

This is normal. It comes from the crankcase breather that feeds into the air intake just before the turbo. You can fit a catch can to stop it & then clean the intercooler out. Check out the Patrol
forum, there is plenty of information on there about it.
