I posted a few pages back that my NJ Pajero had a leak in it's load sensing proportioning valve, so I got my old one re-sleaved Well so I thought!!!!.

As I picked it up from the clutch and brake place, I became concerned that it had no plugs in it to keep the grit out! not even in a plastic bag as it was in when I dropped it off.

Anyway as I was putting the brake lines in it started leaking from the valve straight away, You could here the swearing in the house sorry Kids.

Anyway I put it all together ! bled the lines, and drove down to the brake place for them to inspect the leaking valve and not just take my word for it.

There imeadiate response was it must be your pipes cause it isn't the valve that has been re-sleeved in Brisbane. (yeah sure it was) only a day and a half to get there and back from the Central coast NSW.

I asked them to take a look under the car again, they said well come back in an hour the boss is in then (the bloke I was dealing with the whole time)

Anyway I bought one from the Wreckers in the mean time $75.00 Great straight off the car no grit.

But still wanted the brake place to take a look at there dodgy work, well that involved an argument (still wouldn't look under the car) but then the boss having brake fluid running down his arm from the leaking valve, But before him telling me I don't mind telling you to #### off just like he did the bloke before me. .......................

Still no admission as to yes sorry it leaks! an hour and a half later with the boss not talking to me he came back with the dodgy valve, after taking it to the weld shop next door????? Why !!I think they grit blasted it for them or did the work! Hmmmmm.

Anyway after a 20 minute re-fit (it takes me 5 Mins!) and a messy brake bleed, what are these guy's doing No idea me thinks.

After install past 5PM I drive home with it leaking all the way.

I put the wreckers one on in 5Mins and no leaks.

I return to the brake place this morning and ask for a re-fund No problems there, as I don't need them to fix anything more for me.

They then ask for the part back! but hang on it's my part you can't have it, By the way has it been re-sleeved like it say's on the invoice of course it had NOT just charged for it, and put some dodgy filler in under the seals, that didn't work.

Another argument developed he told me more lies !!!and B/S about getting it looked at, and resolved for me. But I didn't wan't to deal with him any further.

But I guess he didn't wan't the real truth about his dodgy part re build looked at by someone else to see as evidance what dodgy company there running.

Sorry for the Rant all is good now.

Whatch out for dodgy's there still out there.

Hi Roughasguts
Go to your consumer affairs and give them all the details and they should be able to help you out. Go back to the place if you are 100% sure and tell the company that you will name them on this site, to warn other members not to get caught out by this rouge.

Cheers

Cheers Stephen, I think I have done all I can do for the moment apart from the local paper but these guy's have kids so I'm a bit of a softy there.

But Im really annoyed that there advise was it needs to be re-sleeved as these things can lock up!! And what do they do something I could have done, but when ever I have put seals in they never leaked.

Why it was never tested is also beyond me! as just moving the lever on the valve you could here it squelch, as air was being pushed out or sucked in through the seals.

When I mentioned this to the Boss I coped more abuse about something un related.

I still might take it to me mate down the road he's with the N**a so we can pull it down and take some photo's of it together, just so I can't be accused of contaminating the valve. But hey theres no Stainless steel sleeve in there as invoiced!!!! so thats all the proof I need of dodgy work.

Cheers.

Hi
Just because he has children, that is no excuse for dodgy work. It could be someone life at stake on another job, so if he is dodgy, he should be out of business- period.

Cheers

Yup , I would name and shame the rogue and put him out of his dodgy business and go to consumer affairs. Move heaven and earth to get him away from meddling around with stuff he appears to know nothing about

Well thats the funny thing He wouldn't look under the car in the first place cause I bet he wouldn't know where to look for the valve in the first place.

But then I pointed to the puddle !!!! so gave it away.

As tempting as it is, I don't feel right about putting people out of business, as they have staff and familys that need to be suported by someone with a job.

Im still really annoyed about it, wasted two days on it but the outcome was a cheaper deal wish I'm happier about.

Cheers.

Indeed, I do understand where you are coming from, but give him enough rope and eventually he will put himself out of business. What goes around comes around. Good idea if some one rang him and informed him of the free publicity he`s geting :-))

No good using cryptic messages...

Name them....

Reason being, so no one else here gets the same craapy service, maybe they also do it to BRAKE CYLINDERS too ?

But then it's too late to say you could have stopped them when someone runs into you because his brake cylinder had the same craapy service.

This could be life or death information you have and we need :((

I see your point ........No problem then.

I thought it might be against Forum Policy

Central Coast Clutch and Brake.

They have 3 outlets on the Central coast I dealt with the one in Arizona road Charmhaven.

The Half ar$ed mechanic & managing director I dealt with that has an anger Mangement problem as well !!! Is Daniel Lawson.

The man tells nothing but lies.

Good afternoon ....Roughasguts
You get a five star pat on your back from me,about naming and shaming this "Rogue Rat"....just think how many forum it's would have used him....and have some of them had some problems, the same as you.
i have a book with all the rogues i have come across and if someone wants a place for work to be done on their 4wdrive i let them know where not to go....also where to get thing's done to their vehicle, so far im building up a little list of names for future reference for all who want work, done on their vehicle in the south west of WA.
If i was you don't let the part out of your sight, and don't go back to him, start the process off and play with him through your local consumer affairs department.....don't let the part out of your sight.

You did the right thing with his name and shame.

Cheers for now...Williamh...Bunbury...WA.

Cheers William.

Yes the part! and the invoice stating a re-sleeve is the evidance!! or proof of a dodgy job!!! with out either, I have nothing but alllegations and heresay on my behalf.

Why he gave me back the invoice when I got the refund is also beyond me after all it clearly states what I paid for but obviosly didn't get.

And it also clearly states down the bottom the goods covered by this tax invoice remain the property of Central coast Clutch and brake until this Tax invoice has been paid in full by the buyer.

So the invoice clearly tells me they own the Stainless Steel re-sleave which I haven't got!!! so they don't have ownership of my part.

He obviously thought I would give him my part, but he did see it sitting on my dash. (which I wanted him too so he new I did no longer need the part)

I thought he was going to reach through the window and grab it as he followed me out the office, after I mentioned he was a dodgy operator (invoicing and charging for something I never got) and wanted to have another verbal bash at me about how he's not dodgy and I was at fault for his mood! and do I always deal with people that way.

My answer only if there dodgy.

Cheers

Greetings all

Maybe an email to D Lawson at CCCB informing him of the free publicity that his company is getting on this forum might get them to rethink their dodgy practices.

Fair enough, maybe send the same message to the rest of his brothers that also run there part of the same company.

No point keeping it a secret from them, maybe they can deal with him in a family way, after all reputation is at stake for them.

Cheers.
