Diamond, and all of you people that ventre to Woods Point, I heard a little rumor that Woods Point and the surrounding district is going to be flooded within 10 years. (Huge dam) Came from good source as Mum was born down there, her family aren't happy about losing their roots (heritage etc).

So I'd say to you all enjoy your 4byin down there while you can!!!!

That'd be more than a shame....part of the area my mum grew up was flooded as well, but they [the powers that be] had to change their initial plans [after much local protest from what I"m told] as the original dam was going to flood the cemetry!!!

It it's true, we'll just have to enjoy it while we canLaugh alot..life's too short not to....

That would be a damn shame. My family on both sides lost most of their lands to the Sugarloaf Dam at Christmas Hills in Vic and although both original homesteads still remain, the land is gone. The homesteads have a Board of Works notice over them pending compulsory aquisition for the Watson Creek Dam if that goes ahead. My forebears are spinning in their graves.

It is a small world indeed! I spent the first 9 years of my life not far from KG. Ask your mum if she knows of the Muir & Young families of CH's.

Don't get too concerned, these things cost money. Without a new toll on water not too sure there is a capacity to fund such works. We cannot even get a new freeway off the drawing board!

mate , last i heard they were planning to supplement Melb water supply by tapping into the goulburn river system and piping that down south of the divide, i think that would happen before they dam off such a huge area.. Probably just another govt. waste of money study report being done.. Brad

As I recall, there's already a dam up that way isn't there. Can't recall the name and don't have a map handy but I'm sure you pass one the Woods Pt to Jameison run. Wonder if they're thinking of extending this one.
