Hi Everyone,
I am a new user that would like help regarding my Rodeo 3.0 lt diesel, the engine management light comes on every once in awhile but car runs ok at this stage.
Is this a common fault and what could be a possible fix, I do notice that the rodeo seems a bit sluggish when cold, onced warmed up it seems ok.
Thanks for your help.
Regards
Peter

Peter....I have a Nissan D40 and there are two symbols in the shape of an engine on my dash. When the
orange one is on this means that the ECU has detected a fault that needs to be rectified. When the red one is on this means that the
water detector in the fuel filter has activated. Maybe there is something similar in the Rodeo maybe not but just thought it might be worth airing for you to consider.

Possibly EGR valve. Had same thing happen a few years back. Runs OK but really struggled when towing a caravan to the point it was terminal. No change in fuel consumption. Easy to check. EGR valve sits top back in engine bay LH of centre. The valve assembly has a vacuum hose maybe 6mm OD attached annodised cone with a flat end attached to cast valve housing attached by 4 bolts. The valve shaft is visible through a Rectangle hole in LHS. Stand on left side and manually operate throttle If operating properly the valve will move back and
forth, under load it will close. If this valve doesnt move it could be stuck partially open.
Mine had a bent shaft with a gap you could put a 5 cent piece in. As much as it hurts you may need to visit a Holden Dealer to confirm. Hope this may help.
Cheers
Mark

G'Day Peter,
I had a similar problem. I had to replace the battery as it would not hold its charge if not used for two days and after this I had no problems with the engine management light.
