Recommended caravan hire from Perth

Hi, there are a number of hire places listed in white pages with vans/campers which may suit your needs. Customer satisfaction I cannot vouch for.

Before you hire any 'van, you will need to know a few things about your tow vehicle so that the hire company can ensure that your outfit remains legal.

You will need to know the following:-

1. Your vehicles towing capacity, this can be limited by the towbar fitted. You may need to upgrade the tow hitch to suit the van.

2. Your vehicles total allowed weight/mass, ie the total weight/mass of the fully loaded car plus the weight of the passengers plus the towball weight of the loaded caravan.

3. The total weight/mass of the loaded caravan, including water food and personal effects and clothing.

4. The caravan's towball weight. This is that part of the weight of the van supported by the tow hitch .

Most standard cars (Holden Falcon) and smaller 4wd's have normal tow capacities in the order of 1200-2000kg using the correct towbar assembly .

Large 4wd's eg Landcruiser, Nissan patrol and Landrover usually are able to tow 2500-3500kg depending on transmission options and usually have much higher allowable towbar weights.
