goodday all
well after 7 yrs we have had to spend some money on our 80l weaco i had to replace the fan ($28)after it got very rattly (new fan seems great used a computor fan and it seems to draw more air)
the other problem i have and cant seem to overcome is the 240v /24v/12v transformer changeover unit I replaced it earlier this year as appeared to be playing up but what I am now finding is it will run on the car battery for a little while and then go into stupid mode .The red light starts blinking and motor runs continuos
I started checking with the multimeter as i thopught the battery was stuffed again BUT i had 12.6v coming in and that was fine for a couple of minuts then into stupid mode so recheck voltage 12.6 in still but only 10.5 coming out of transformer so will be a phone call to waeco and try and get it changed somewhere as we purchased in melb but wont be back there for while

My experience with two Waecos recently has been that the only way to fix them is to replace the control module - cost around $280.

Gday Steve,

ONLY way to fix this problem with any fridge, with external 240 power supply is to ditch it.
FIX ;
Hard wire fridge into car with good size wire, go buy a 25amp ctek battery charger, hard wire that in too, so when you pull up and plug in, your fridge runs on 12v as always, but you get your battery,s charged as well as supply all your 12v needs.
Doesnt matter then if you have driven 10 k or a 1000 k for the day.
Best move i ever made. Handy for top up too when camped if you need to run a genny on occasions too.
The stupid red light only comes on when there is a power problem, as it is, and is correct 99.9% of the time.

Hi Steve,

The Waeco error codes are as follows:

Error Flashes per 5 seconds

1 = Low Voltage
2 = Fan Overlaoding
3 = Motor Start (Turn off for 10 minutes)
4 = Low Motor peed
5 = Blocked Ventilation

Hope this helps, Michael
