Hi Everyone,

Just thought I'd make mention of a site that many of you will find very useful if planing a trip to the North Kimberley.
Kim & Taffy from Mt Hart Wilderness Lodge have put this site up. Kim has done so much work on it and is going to do further upgrades over this next wet season.
The site supports all the locals along the Gibb River and Kalumburu roads.
It has tons of info and links to everywhere you may want for further info about.
So much work has gone into it ! Check it out, honestly it's well worth it if heading up our way.
Mt Hart also opened to campers in 2009, camping in there gives you access to Gorges etc not so heavily used. If you have the time to spare, think about adding that option.
cheers, Anne

Here is a comment for the site map page.
We are Taffy and Kim, from Mt Hart along the Gibb River Road. We have created this website, with the on-going support of the Gibb River Road community, to help you plan your travels through the Kimberley, and have a truly enjoyable experience - the experience of a lifetime.

An excellent site, very informative and well presented. Top photos - maybe they could be made clickable for a larger view?

Very well done.

Thankyou so much for posting this up.
Makes planning to your beautiful part of the country a lot easier.
Haven't been to the West yet, but now I can start to dream and plan.

What a great web site, we travelled through the Kimberly's in May this year and we went to most of these places, but that was mainly by chance. I would have loved to be able to access this site before going there. Well done Kim & Taffy, this is a great site and thank you for your hospitality earlier this year.
I am sure many a traveller will access this site when planing this Kimberley adventure.

cheers

We were lucky enough to be up there in June/July and was told by someone that Mt Hart has just opened for camping. Thou it wasn't on our plan, we decided to stop there for 2 nights. Great camping facilities and a magnificent restaurant run by Kim and Taffy. Its 50kms from the Gibb, the road was one of or if not the best dirt road up there.

Well worth the visit

cheers,

Lance

G'day,

Like Lance S (above) we also toured the GRR this year and stayed at Mt Hart and many, many of the other attractions shown on this website. One thing I would suggest to anyone planning to do a trip up there is to allow PLENTY of time. There are just so many wonderful things to see.

We ended up taking 9 days more than we had planned and we are going to go back to do the things we had to forego.

Cheers

Russ.
