Bob of KAOS
Following up on my turbocharger post from last week, I placed the order on Thursday night and it arrived yesterday (Tuesday). Its a new in box Garrett with gaskets.
Total cost was 450 pounds plus 95 pounds postage. Which comes to $960.
I reckon thats excellent service at an excellent price - given the local price was $3814 plus GST.
I'll certainly deal with
Brookwells again.

"ocal price was $3814 plus GST"
You have to wonder why it is so much locally? If they purchase more than one the Import duty and GST would up the price, but they would get trade price.
Must be a hefty mark up. Cheers Tony

Hi Bob,
Warranty claims on the import might be a bit tricky, but hey, you can buy another 2 or 3 if the first one goes and still be in front!
Well done!!

Warranty on stuff bought overseas has rarely been a problem, I've had stuff replaced from both the US and UK under warranty. In fact neither supplier quibbled in the slightest and both sent replacements straight away. The US supplier even sent me a credit for the next order and told me to keep the slightly damaged in transit but actually usable part as a spare.
I quite often order parts from overseas, arrive at my door within the week and OEM to boot.

My spectacles took two weeks in Australia, one day in Vietnam.
A spring for my washing machine was going to take two weeks to come to
perth from the east. (and priced like gold)
Cant get internet hardly anywhere in Australia and expensive when travelling and expensive when I get it. Its free in most cafe's ion Vietnam
Which is the backward country?
But of course we are mostly better off here. Just get angry sometimes at the way some things work here.
Thats better had my little whinge.
