We are heading off on a trip to W.A. from
melbourne in three weeks and need to get some cryovac bags for our meat and vegetables.
We are looking for some more bags for our machine that we bought off the internet and there is apparently a place in Clayton in
Melbourne.
We will be spending a bit of time going on the old Eyre highway and then dropping down into the
Nuytsland nature reserve to Cape Arid. Then up to Kalgoolie, along the railway line to
Rawlinna, then down to the highway to home.
This will be a shake down for the car before our trip next year.
Any help will be appreciated
Regards

Depending on the size of the machine that you have purchased, Sunbeam make the bags in either pre cut sizes or on the roll and make your own size. Sunbeam also make the machines in a couple of sizes. You should be able to purchase them from any store, Australia wide that sell Sunbeam products.
Cheers

These should be referred to as vacuum bags. Cryovac is a brand name of a company that makes super large and small machines for commercial use and their bags are probably not suitable for Sunbeam machines.
Butchers suppliers may have a similar sort of plastic bag that Sunbeams use

I think it has become a generic term, as in referring to ballpoint pens & "Biros".

I get
mine from a kitchen
shop here on the
Gold Coast. The price varies according to the size but I got 100 bags 28x20 for $40 bucks and the next size up was $60. They work
well so go to a specialist kitchen supply
shop and see what they have.
For the bigger items I buy the rolls from Aldi when they are available.

Try a butcher supplies store. Over in the west we have Master Butchers - they have the bags in numerous sizes and relatively cheap compared to retail prices.
Make sure you tell them it’s for a domestic variety cryovac machine not the commercial variety - they use different bags.
Cheers

Sunbean comments are correct. I got my bags at Harvey Norman in Warrigal Road Chadstone. They come on a roll in 2 sizes.
