Karen & Geoff
With our dream trip around Australia starting as soon as we sell the house, people are asking me to start a blog so they can follow us. Becasue I have never had anything to do with these blog thingy's, but everyone on here seems to have one, I was wondering if someone could sort of point me in the right direction, but dont get to technical as I am certainly no wiz on these push button computer things.
Do I need to pay for a website and have a web page, or can I start a blog page for free, or do you have to pay a yearly subscription to have a page on the net?
Thanks all.
Karen

yeah but then what happens if one day we arnt members, can we still use it. I sort of wanted an independant one Kev......
I'm sure the one on here is fine, but I wanted one like others have, where it is just like a web page.

Life time
membership cures the no longer member issue and may even end up being cheaper in the long run. As site may charge an annual fee.

Michael, I was hoping someone would give me the easy option and you have done it. But are you going to like cuddling up to Geoff every night. Kissing him wont be a problem you are both 6'5"...............................lmao.
You know how big his hands are...................lol
And apart from that, we have a new Land Cruiser now. We had to buy the bigger 4wd because the van is over 3 tonne.
Will we see you at the quarry on Sunday?

Look out Karen, I reckon Mick or Josh would love to be in your position LOL.....
and both can certainly get our attention with their
blogs......as I hope you will no doubt do when we get to read yours..
Like Kev says, I reckon the lifetime
membership way here would be your cheapest option.
Why not contact the guru of this site, and speak with him.
Fred.

Thanks Fred, we are very very proud of it. We had to have the roof lifted by 4 inches as Geoff is very tall and didn't want to be ducking his head. We have a full size front loader washing machine and the outside BBQ and Fridge in those little doors you can see between the font and the door. We had extra
water tanks and solar panels put on it as
well, we plan to do a lot of
free camping....
Excited is not the word, it is big, but it is going to be our home for the next how ever many years to come, and we wanted to be comfortable.

Hi Karen,
We have used www.webs.com for our trip updates. Have a look here:
http://www.kidsandall.webs.com/
I didn't start till we were
well into the trip but would have been good to have started at the start of our trip. You can setr it uo how you want to.
It is free and a great way for people to keep tabs on what is happening. They can leave messages for you as
well. You do get adds on there but we just put a warning on saying adds aren't part of our site. Has been great for us as we have travelled for the last 2 3/4 years.
Josh

Hi Josh, I seen your blog the other night when we were chatting, and it was really good. That is something like I want to do, and I thought I might start it now before we go and have it all setup and ready to go. Thanks heaps for your reply. And I will check out that address you give me for it.

Try
travelblog.org. It's totally free, and used by people worldwide. I used it last year while cycling through europe. Every time you post it sends emails to your friends and family. They can leave comments which you can answer. And if you want you can order a printed book of your trip including the photos when you're done.
