Hi all.
We have just been offered a rear wheel carrier off an 2003 IFS Landcruiser for free. However ours is a 1999 Live axle model.
I have heard that it may not fit, just wondering if anyone knows whether it will or if it can be modified ?
Any feedback is appreciated, especially anyone who has done this.
Thanks
Lynz and Nath

I dont think it will without serious work.
The reason is that the chassis rails on an IFS are approx 45mm wider than the live axle.
How do I know I bought a live axle towbar and the bolt holes were that much too narrow.
maybe better to sell and buy another one.
Was one on the Trader I think.
I paid $450 for a nearly new one including the bumper bar and a pair of LED tail lights worth $98
The only way to get it to fit would be to remove your bumper and bolt the top two bolts in to hold it.
Then work out how wide a bit of steel on to allow you to bolt it to the bottom of the chassis rail as I would think thats the only difference.
The stub axle needs to be vertical in all planes
Did you get the bumper with it and the instructions to fit it
May have
mine somewhere.

Hi. Thanks for all that info.
It's still on the vehicle at the moment. My uncle is going to chop his 100 series into a ute, therefore he won't be needing the wheel carrier anymore. He just offered it to us as he knows were looking for one.

Get the bumper as
well as it will save you drilling into yours.
There is also a bracket that holds the carrier shut in behind the clamp on the outside of the bumper.
When you take it off note the thickness of the top and bottom as they arent much different but only go one way.
I f you have a towbar i suggest if you do fit it buy bolts 12mm longer as
mine werent just quite long enough as I also put a tow point on each side and needed longer bolts.
