NO!!
However, we were travelling west from where the
Boggy Hole route hits the Ernest Giles Road. So rough my GPS (compact flash type) died. One of those roads where you try to get your speed up to limit the affects of the corrugations, then you hit a sand drift peak (dune over road) on a bend - no wonder there have been some drama's along the road.
Cheers

Hi
Due to the conditions of the road, there are signs at both ends advising that the road is not suitable for caravans. The soft sand in a few sections may catch out the ill prepared.
Cheers
Stephen

We went through here in August as part of the Variety Bash. It was the worst bit of road we had on the whole trip from
Bendigo to Alice and they gave it to us on the last day. The corrogations are some of the worst I've seen, I wouldn't take my 4x4 on there if I had a choice.

I did it 10 years ago with a 2 x 4 Hilux dual cab & a Jayco Finch. An experience I wouldn't recommend. Did most of the road in 2nd and 3rd gear because of sand. Got the whole rig airborne over one of the cattle grids.
Took longer than taking the long way round. Used more fuel. Met some idiot in a hire car (Yes car, not 4x4) going the other way, at about 140 Kph!!!
I say, take the long way round. Easier drive. More facilities. More access to help if needed.

peppylepiou,
I went though in August. As the others have siad, I would not recomend it.
We travelled quite slow and it was marginally quicker than the long way round. Wit hteh right speed I would not say its a road you cant do, but I would not recomend it as it will shake the BG out our you can and its contents.
Paul.

We went that way about 10 years ago and said at the time I had been on rougher roads but couldn't remember when. Since then I have been on the Cape Levique road! Enough said.
