As some are aware the Tardis did not travel well over the Oodnadatta and Mereenie Loop tracks and has been decommissioned !! The 140 watt solar panel is now on the roof of the Jeep and powers the 100aH battery with CF50 Waeco .
The trailer had to be modified and now sports a 50 watt panel bolted directly on the PODs lid.. ( much safer !! ) ..
The trailer behaved perfectly - only the Solar Panel carrier had trouble ...
The main problems encountered were rivets popping out , self-tapping metal screws falling out .. hinges losing there pins , aluminium stress relief stays cracking and bending and falling off ... I am no engineer and have now given up on the idea as being totally impractical for the tracks involved ..
The positives were a fantastic trip , met a lot of great people from within EO and fellow travellers -- all had similar experiences and gave freely of their knowledge of places to visit etc... Had a good time at the Gathering ...

Now its time to save and prepare for the Kimberley April / July 2011 ..

Thanks to everyone on EO that helped and advised -

See you all somewhere soon ...

Good to see the progression in design :o)

I also have given up on pop rivets and self tappers, and mainly use bolts with nyloc nuts now, and the KISS (keep it simple stupid) principal.

Still a bit wary of welds, not enough give, and cracks appear.

Will wait and see what comes out of your next adventure.
