Cape York

Morning all,Jan and I are planning a trip to the top next year.Does any-one know the best place to leave our van in storage. We think maybe Cooktown and travel up from there with our tents etc.,The van isn't an offroader but Iv'e strengthened it up a fair bit,we've done Cameron
Corner,Innamincka,Walkers Crossing,Birdsville,Ood track etc., with no probs, but not sure about the Cape. Can anyone offer advice Regards,Keith

Some people leave their caravans at the Lakeland CP.

Most parks in the Cairns area offer storage. Mt Carbine is a good one, that way you can do the Cape Trib road and back down through Matyown.

Van storage at Mt Carbine is free if you stay there a night each side of your trip.

Keith,

Another good spot is Wonga Beach Caravan Pk...$3/day storage. About 20kms north of Mossman. It's a good spot, particularly if you want a break after the trip.

Cheers

Go early (after it is dry and graded) and take it with you...
