LyndonNT
Bit more info is it a Yacht, Launch, trailerable 10, 20,30 or 40 ft
Most yachty mags have haulage companies which specialise in larger vessels
several years ago we transported crayboats of varying size from the West to east cost varied from $8,000 to 10,000 as they got bigger the need for escort came into play, thats probable 10 to 12,000 now

G'day Lyndon,
I now have a part time job, meaning I can't make this offer effective straight away.....but I only work during the school term; finish about 11th December.
So, my offer would be for me to tow your boat up as far as you want me to (say Alice, Three Ways,
Katherine or wherever you'd be prepared to meet me). I would charge you the cost of the fuel I use to get there (x 2 to cover the return trip) plus, say, $1,000- for my time and wear & tear (tyres etc). I would take a swag and sleep (wherever) along the way......
So, how much was the quote you got anyway? Maybe it's cheaper than my offer...hahahaha
Cheers
Roachie

Probably around the same Roachie. that's why I won't bother to do it myself. Have friends coming up next year who might be able to bring it. Thing is, it's not the easiest thing to tow and I know how one of my friends drive, i.e., not on the conservative side!

Go to a womans mag and see if they know any 16 year old school girl that they would be prepared to sponsor and sail it, only a couple of corners along the way :-))

lyndon,
There must be a freight train or three that goes from
Adelaide to
Darwin
Surely the Ghan isn't the only choice.
Cheers,
Cruiser

Hi Lyndon, Did you try Northline?
We found their prices amazing cheap when getting a pallet from
Adelaide to
Darwin?

Try ABC transport.
FWIW I just did a 10,000k round trip myself for the same reason. Ended up saving myself about $5,000.
