Boat buying - buyer beware - Lies abound

Saw a boat for sale in the
Cairns post - looked like the best buy ever at $35k
Did some net research - you have to love the net.
The boat was advertised 10/12/2007 online for $55k and had just been done up with 77hrs on the outboard.
I found it again advertised online (link below) basically the same add 1 & 1/2 years latter for $42k.
Viewed the boat today and was told it had 30hrs on the clock - go look if you do not believe us :-)
So I mentioned the adds and they deny any knowledge of this - we have owned the boat for years. The current condition of the boat is poor and not even worth 25k I would suggest!
Needless to say - it is still for sale and may catch someone out :-)

I'm just about to advertise
mine and hope I get realistic responses from prospective buyers who will really believe it has done less than 50 hours in 4 years! Truly.
It's the reason I'm flogging it as it's a waste of money just sitting there. Lack of use made the fuel pump seize up and I've just replaced that at a cost of over 1300 bucks so out it goes, no more wasting money on the damn thing.
My son has got one twice the size so if I ever want a trip out I'll go with him instead.
Good luck boat hunting Tony, some will be as advertised, just like some 4bys have never been off road!

I only have 100hrs on my 140 Suzuki after 3 years
I bet you have service records as I do for
mine.
The seller said it had 30hrs on the motor, I said it had 77hrs on it 2 years ago. They said we have owned it for years. I showed them the web adds and that was news to them.
Anyways too many lies to get through and the boat was no good.
Hope you have luck selling yours, never a happy thing to do :-)
