hi all,
Just wondering if anyone can tell me the condition of the road to
weipa at the moment, i only have a 2wd van but am keen to get up as high as i can go any info would be great!,

The PDR is easily done in a 2wd Van. Just take it easy and do not speed.
You did not say which way you were going from
Cooktown. So do not take the Battle
Camp Road this time of year it will shake you to pieces.
Take the Matilda Highway to
Lakeland and up the PDR.

Concur on the state of Battle
Camp Road.
It's near the top of our Worst Roads in the Country list, just behind the
Anne Beadell Highway (because it's longer) and the CSR around Kunawaritji.
