The Geriatric Gypsies
morning all
well further to the string being wet we left
bourke yesterday am got to the
louth turnoff and poked the nose down the road but with all the rain and the van on the back we decided to drift on down the highway as the roadsides were very soft and we didnt want to get the whole lot bogged while making room for another vehicle
will do it next time around

Steve,
There is lots to see in the
Hill as I am sure you would know. A couple of suggestions that often get overlooked are White's Mineral Art Museum gives a great overview of mining operations in the
Hill over the years.
If the wife is after unsual nick nacks and stuff Red Sand's Gallery has a varied collection and some excellent art work as
well.
If you go to
Daydream Mine off the
Silverton Rd the sunset from the balcony is excellent. Grab a cuppa and some scones sit back, relax and watch the show.
Yes I am mates with the proprietors of Red Sands and Daydream but they are worth a look anyway and I have no affiliation with White's despite sahring a surname, I just think its good.

Its a great town (born there, although Qld raised, so I have to say that!).
The feeds at the West Darling Hotel are great and great value - I challenge anyone to finish the mixed grill. Don't be put off by the hotel's "down at heel" appearance or some of the more colourful patrons, its a very friendly pub.
As
well as the good suggestions above, all of which I agree with, you could check out Jack Absalom's gallery, or duck over to South for a lime spider at Bell's Cafe (which according to mum hasn't changed much in 50 years).
If you need any repairs etc go see Kiwozzie 4WD in Crystal St. Can't remember the name of the
young bloke that owns and operates it, but he really helped me out a few months back, can't give him a big enough wrap.
Enjoy!
Ben

Enjoy your time here. Don't forget to take your wife to the Chocolate factory (
shop) at the gallery in town. they sell the best chocolate coated licorice ever.
Cheers
