Hi there
Im chasing a Auto sparkie in Gympie to rewire the trailer plug on the old girl. Blinker on van wont work. I just crawled under the car to start the elimination process and bingo. Too many
creek and mud crossings has deterated the wiring.

If you can crawl under the van, you can rewire it yourself.
Just get some trailer core wire from a local auto parts store and run it thru the chassis (or somewhere else out of the way) and as you disconnect each wire from the lights etc just hook up the new one of the same colour.
Same goes for the plug at the car end.
It will also help you trouble shoot on the road if something happens as you know how it all goes together.
Cheers
Dave

Dave, I started at the van end with the test light. Its amazing how much grit gets into everything spent ages cleaning them all. The wiring under the car is a bit of a nightmare. There is wires from the tail lights on the car and rear bumper. I'm hearing you about tackling it my self as I do have a little esky full of wires and joiners I did find a broken one and one of the click on joiners fell apart in my hand. The trailer brakes click a fair bit too so I think its in need of a prof job that will last. I was hoping there might be a local EO member near Gympie who is either a sparkie or knows of one. I've got another 6 weeks before I hook up again but who's counting.
Cheers Sharon

Or you could go for a leisurely drive up to
Maryborough to see Martin. He comes highly recommended as per Post 73374.
