We have had them twice through the country south of McKinlay.

They were travelling west, then they came back a couple of weeks later and their are still a few around.

They haven't done much damage and they seem just as confused as us about the weather.

It seems like they were awakened by the promise of finding Utopia and found desert instead.

Bio-security....hahahahahahaha

Geez...... Locusts have been around for millenia. Good rains and right conditions and they are off!!! As usual the wake-up call comes too late and the swarms get going and eat everything. They came through here in 2001. Killed the lawn(good thing) and the Apricot tree but left most other foliage. Had them for a good 24hours. Missus hates them and goes and hides when they are aound. Once we got to a gate on a track in the middle of a locust storm and she hid under a blanket in the car while I did the gate :-)

G'day Willem. Some say they're good tucker...buggered if this black duck is about to find out LOL.

They may have been around for millenia, but that don't make the cocky who's about to have his crop (and everything else related to vegetation) he's trying desperately to get to harvest consumed by them, feel any better.

But, by the look of things, we've now got Locust Busters...Just ring 132523.

BTW my missus would'a flogged me if I'd opened that car door LOL
