Kulkyne solar panels

We are looking at buying one of their solar kits, Has anyone bought one and your impressions? The 120 watt kit is what we are considering. They seem good value

I have had one of their 80 watt panels for about 12 months now - excellent - does all that it is meant to do - it is sturdy construction - good quality regulator and I note that they are giving away free protective cover and free freight this month

They also have some pretty good information available on their website Kulkyne Websiteand send out a great newsletter which also has great info in it - the one I got this week was all about some trials Brett has done in regard to charging batteries - made for some great reading

They have also started a promotional thing where each week they have a 'Deal of the week' in which they put up a product (last week it was a solar panel) this week it is Black Wolf Turbo Tent and basically they reduce the price by a certain amount each day for a week until some one buys it - the trick is of course deciding when you are going to put in your offer - if you wait too long someone else may beat you to it - they only offer 1 item per week

So in summary - yeah I would buy it :-))))))))))))

Depends on your definition of 'good value', I guess ;-)

Looking at the Kulkyne website,

Kulkyne Kampers 120W kit $1170 (incl. freight) = $9.75 per Watt

Compare this with >>

ebay Item # 180424710427 120W kit $650 Buy it Now, or 'Make an Offer' (Freight included)
At the BIN price, = $5.42 per Watt
Make an offer (say $550), and if accepted it gets even better...
Usually, they'll either accept the offer, or come back with a counter-offer...

Plenty of others on ebay at around the same $-per-watt...
(I'll give good odds that the ones KK are selling are sourced from the same place;-))

If I were in the market for such an item right now, I know where I'd be lookin'
(YMMV)

I have too agree my ebay panels have served me well the last couple of years, I bought some of mine the last time the Aussie Dollar was as high, under $6.00 a watt inc. reg. is hard to over look.

It appears you have nothing to loose, with this "purchase price" refund you even get a refund on their *advice* if your not 100% happy with it.
Buy it and take it to your local Solar distributor for his thoughts and approval, there's nothing they like more than condemning their opposition.

With their 120 Watt panel and yours both laying in the sun you can then check which one delivers the highest Amps in an instant.
(hint) check with both panels laying horizontal, either in early morning or late afternoon.

We want you to be 100% happy with your purchase from Kulkyne Kampers.
That's why we back up every sale with our 30 Day 100% Money Back Guarantee.
If you're not 100% happy with our product, or even our advice! We return 100% of the cost of your purchase"

Giday Madcow.
I purchased one of the 120watt kits 12 months ago, I also got the carry bag to go with it.Apart from the ally stand attached to it , I am very happy with there performance. I run a 80 litre waeco fridge / freezer, lights and my car stereo over a four day period, and both my crank and deep cycle are in good order on departure from wherever. I reside in Alice Springs and it gets pretty warm in the back of the Toyota, so the fridge and batteries get a bit of a workout, the panels appear to be more than adequate.
