Howdy Folks, we have just arrived back after a seven week trip in our wobble box, most of which was spent in the above mentioned paradise!!
And what a great place this previously unexplored (by us) this part of New South is!!
Cook Town was our furthest point North & one of our favourites, as was
Mission Beach.
There were many other top spots, such as 1770 & a trip out to the Lady Musgrove Coral reef &
lagoon, as was our time spent in the
Daintree area
It was a great holiday in this truly magnificent part of our country & we enjoyed every moment of it. It's also good to be home & to catch up with our family.
I will have a look later & see what info I can find on how the
St George gathering went & what else has been happening on the site.
Hoo Roo & cheers for now.

Barry ya Old Fart,
Good to see that with your Old Timers you actually found your way home to cockroachville ;)
If you have a look in my
Blogs I have done a Blog on the
St George Gathering.
Cheers Kev

Queenslanders might be a bit miffed that you have stolen their treasures,
Cooktown,
Mission beach,
Daintree etc and put them in NSW though.
The Wet Tropics is a very special place.

Easy to miss the Qld Border
Sign on the way up and think 'geez, this NSW is a really BIG state' !!! LOL. I mean once ya got a bit of a clue as ya passed the Big Pineapple but the Bruce Highway bypasses it now.

Queensland is currently celebrating its 150 birthday year. What happened between 1770 and 1859 ? Of course parts of it were settled between these dates but the early maps showed the whole of the east coast as "New South Wales."
Whilst we have migrated further north now and live just beneath the Tropic thus becoming a defacto Queenslander I can still get an easy "Barra" bite from the indigenous QLD's just by mentioning the early maps.

Blxxdy New South Welshmen. T
You think they would be happy enough taking our rugby league players to put some life into their teams, but now they want to claim our holiday spots too.
Is this retaliation for Aunty Anna trying to pinch the grand final?

. . . though some things remain the same.
When you move from NSW to QLD, you still have to set your watch back one Hour, and your calendar back twenty years.

Since when was
Cooktown relocated sth of Pt Danger? I think the only
Mission Beach in NSW is a local slang reference to Byron Bay where it is a "mission" to get past all the smoke haze coming from the local beach bums and actually remember what your mission was in the first place LOL!!
As King of Cane Toad Territory you are lucky my immigration officer denied to inform me of your request for a Visa as we definitely DO NOT endorse terrorists of the cockroach kind up here hehehe. Seeing you have now seen the light I suppose you want citizenship as
well ay? (
Well join the queue buddy!!)
Glad we were able to provide you with lasting memories of this magical part of the country.
Best regards,
Trevor.
