Hi,
Hope someone can help.
I have a number of tracks froma recent walking holiday with, around 1500 - 3000 points (when I open it in a text editor) . When I load them into OziExplorer (3.95.4m), Ozi only shows the first 101 points.
I presume there is a configuration setting somewhere but I cannot find it. Can anyone tell me how to get the full track loaded

TFAI,

Try this:

In OziExplorer, Go to "File" and click on "Configuration", then click on GPS. You will find that you can choose the number of track points that you require - as a guess yours is set to 101.

Nice thought but sadly File->Configuration->GPS->Trackpoints is set to 10,000
(and number of tracks to 75)

Rincewind (TFAI)

If they are plt files do not load them as points, load them as track files.

press Load, Load Track from File (Multi)

if they are not plt files then import them.

press Load, Import whatever

Sorry, I am not being clear.

The track was recorded in OziExplorerCE and was saved as cetrack.plt and then transferred via activesync to a PC. On examination (notepad) the file contains roughly 2870 'points' (i.e. lines with lat, Long, time etc).

In Oziexplorer (3.95.4m),
FIle->Load From File->Load recent maps-> select the map of the area of the track
File->Load From File->Load tracks from file (muilti)->select cetrack.plt
Track Control->Select slot 1 shows a track with 101 points and 2.15km
This (101 points) is consistent with the representation of the track on the map.

Opening cetrack.plt (203kb) in a text editor shows 2880 lines
the first 6 have
OziExplorer Track Point File Version 2.0
WGS 84
Altitude is in Feet
Reserved 3
0,2,255,OziCE Track Log File,1
0

and the balance have 6 values separated by commas

Configuration ->GPS->no track Points is set to 10000
Configuration->Moving Map->Trail Length is set to 0

Any suggestions as to why there are ony 101 points?

Some other potentially useful information:-
1. I have tried other track files and track control (and the map) still only show 101 points
2. I have tried appending a track but still track control only shows 101 points
3. I have tried File->Load From File->Load Points from file ->Load Points from track file-> select cetrack.plt and I get 2874 points loaded.

So it seem clear that there is something limiting the number of points to 100 (or 101) but where can I fund/change this restriction?

As OziCE and Ozi has made some significant upgrades since May 2006 (when your Ozi 4m version was released), the first thing i would look at is upgrading Ozi to the latest version. Whether that fixes anything, i'm not sure, however it is worth it just for the numerous other features added since then (Google Earth support etc).

As an example, this is one of the many changes since then that "could" be part of the problem:

==============================================
Fixes

- some minor fixes.

Changes

- Now includes support for Google Earth within OziExplorer. There is a link to the OziExplorer Google Earth page (on the OziExplorer page) where the .map file can be downloaded.
- Fixed some unusual Vista issues.

===============================================

Whether this fixes the problem, we are unable to tell, however it is a good start.

Hope that helps
