Where which rear seats The second or third row.
We have a 60 litre Waeco and removed both rows of rear seats and put a floor in and a cargo barrier behind the front seats.
The Waeco just sits there fine as we have rubber grooved matting on the floor.
We also had a washing machine in there as
well but now have it in the van.
We have a second barrier behind that so whats on top of the drawers cant fly forward either
If you intend leaving the seats out for a while best take it to an engineer and get a certificate as its illegal to remove bolted down seats
Mine only cost $60
Would also consider a cargo barrier as If you stop in a hurry you could end up with fridge wrapped around your ears Slide or no slide

I removed the 3rd row of seats in the 80 series trying to find the best place to put it in the new machine

You could use the bolt downs for the baby seats in the rear or do as I have done but its a bit of work but can give you some pointers if you like.
Had to do
mine like that as the fridge is too high to open it from on top of the drawers in the rear.

You haven't mentioned whether you have the Engel tie down points which bolt on to the handle mountings .
When I bought my Engel slide , it came with turnbuckles which fitted onto the slide and into the tie down points, which I recall I had to buy separately.
If you do not want to have a slide , perhaps you should place eyelets in the floor where turnbuckles can reach from the tie downs on the fridge via the turnbuckles.
In other tie down situations I use marine stainless loops available from Whitworths and rivet them to the floor with 5.5 MM steel rivets.
Mate that fridge will not move even in a rollover if you do what I have suggested.

Tony,
The pics below should explain how I have done it. The timber plate is secured using the 4 tie down points.
