Yep. Me too. Noticed it a couple of days ago. Pretty smart idea I guess. Will help to keep
membership costs down a bit I hope, and pay the site bills. Bob.

They seem to be inserted after the fourth reply.
At least they are not obtrusive.

Richard, you can stop all the "flash" ads by installing adblock and flashblock.

I think it could very
well be official. There is now more advertising on each page than there is useful information ;-) How much is too much????
Cheers Craig............

Yes, these were loaded last night - but they aren't ads in the sense that we earn any revenue from them being placed here (unfortunately), but they are our way of promoting the very large list of activities and tours from our ACTIVITIES section that can be booked via us. There's actually quite some incredible things there so this makes it a bit easier to show you (there are new ones being loaded all the time). Anyway, we thought we might try making them a bit more visible to our audience (ie. putting a filtered list of activities from your state) in the
Forum - that's the "ad" you are seeing. Of course, if we get more bookings due to making these more visible to the
Forum audience, then that will indeed help things tick along. Thanks for all your feedback, Michelle

well.

Hi Duke - we have set the Activities/Things to Do promo box in the
Forum to only show items from your state (this is based on what you have registered in your profile) to keep it more relevant. Many of the Activities/Tours/Things to Do are things that you'd probably do when staying around home, rather than when you're out touring so that was our train of thought in doing this. You can always go direct to Activities and browse by category or by state too of course if you are interested to see a greater range. Note - if you click any items shown in the box you will only go to another page on ExplorOz (Activities) and won't leave this site.
Hope this answers your question, Michelle

HI Alan, I hope you enjoyed the horse and cart through the Swan Valley. My daughter Leah had her 9th birthday last week and she is currently going through that typical girly horsey stage so I bought her the "Pony for a Day" activity that was also in the Swan Valley. 2 other friends also booked. It was the most fantastic experience for them and I would have never known otherwise that you could do such a thing. It was unlike normal trial riding or riding lessons - the girls were each given a pony to keep for the day and the day included learning how to groom and get to know their pony, saddling up, mucking out, learning the names of all the body parts, and parts of the tack, then a private 1 on 1 lesson for 30mins each whilst the others did some worksheets in the classroom, then lunch (provided) then off for a 1.5hr trial ride, then back for a private lesson again and when I arrived to pick her up I saw Leah doing "rising trot" and was most impressed that she'd learned all that in her first day of holding the reins! Now she just wants to do it again!! LOL, Michelle

YeahI just got it to. Was like the page was frozen as I tried to scroll down, then up it poped! Something to do with bankwest I think? What a fantastic addition. Imagine the poor people with dial up! With all that happening I wonder just how long it would take them to D/L just one page?

Opp's it's the beer again. I do know how long it takes as I "burned" my limit last month and went back to dial up speeds. The site wouldn't even load!!!

Lyndon, you are actually talking about something else completely different. The discussion here refers to the Book Now - Activities promotion that we have inserted inbetween post replies. MM
