This for proper bushwalking/hiking: Deuter Carriers
but you'll pay through the nose for it.

For a cheaper option (make sure it's comfy for your little one though) is Katmandu stores.

Also, Ebay has a few that eager parents have paid a fortune for and never used. Make sure it has proper accessories though; think rain hood, fully adjustable harness's etc... That's where we got ours.

yes, we had a "Kelty Kids" one that was sold in 'as new' condition for pitance! Carrying a wiggling kid on your shoulders can be hard work!

We have a kathmandu one. It's fine. They often have them on 50% off special ... so about $150-ish instead of $300.

We have a Tatonka version. Full frame, adjustable everything and sufficiently comfortable that the kids fell asleep in it all the time. I cross country skied and bushwalked with it. Get one that will stand up by itself so that you can put the child into it then put it on.

I keep meaning to put ours in the trader section. We're in Melbourne if that helps.
