hello there, we are uk based members of this site as it has helped so much with planning our big trip out there to start end of this month November. We own a converted 1994 Pinzgauer 716TD. camper. We are shipping it to oz on a carnet-de passage (not importing) and need a company to insure such a vehicle. Simple we thought. We have Australian residency and plan to stay after our trip.
Shannons have said no.
can anyone point us in the right direction please. if possible we need tel numbers to use from uk as the common free call numbers wont work.
we have filled in a few forms online but the make and model vehicle make this difficult without talking to a company direct.
the vehicle is now made in the UK.
Thanks for any help
Tyron, Justine and Romi.

Try QBE. I have dealt with them for a number of years. I find their services to be top rate.
Enjoy your trip

Gday,
I've found Shannon's to be really good?
Maybe if you posted a photo so they know what they are insuring?

This might help?

Sorry......
What was the reason they gave for not insuring it?

You appear to have a vehicle that would allow you to join the CMCA They have what is possibly the best policies for your type of vehicle.

Hi Tyron, If it is a truck camper/motorhome try loging onto the CMCA website they have an excellent insurer group if you become a member.

Best of luck Mary Anne
